Summer Camps
In week-long half or full-day dance camps, children from ages 3-12 will explore the magic of dance through themed movement and music. Our camps include dance, song, storytelling, acting, crafts, and creative games based on the weekly themes.

Summer Semester
In addition to our Intensives and Camps, Canyon Concert Ballet offers both youth and adult classes for a 4-week session during the summer.
Classes for the 2024 summer schedule will run from June 24 through July 18.
Advanced Intensive Acceptance
CCB’s summer intensive is open to all ballet students ages 10-24 with a least three years of ballet technique training. Current CCB students must be enrolled in level 4 and up. Auditions are not required. Non-CCB students are welcome, please submit a 3 minute video for level placement. Video should show barre and center work.

Melissa Corr
Ballet Mistress & Advanced Ballet Instructor
Melissa Corr is a native NewYorker. She began her training with Russian Prima Ballerina Liana Hausler. She eventually joined her company, Genesee Civic Ballet and later Hausler and Company, where she enjoyed many solo roles in the Classics.
Upon arriving in Colorado, she continued her dancing with Denver Civic, now Colorado Ballet.
Through the years she became very interested in pedagogy, and continued to study again in NYC , taking vigorous classes with such greats as Melissa Hayden, Patricia Wilde, Basil Thompson, Nadine Ravine, Zena Romett and Gelsey Kirkland.
Returning to Colorado and rekindling her admiration and love for her Russian training, she studied and danced for Misha Tcherpakova, Meelis Pakri, Pavel Rotaru, Jilliana, Lorita Travaglia, and Dmitre Roudnev.
Melissa has been a pillar in the Fort Collins ballet community, working with the Chamber Orchestra, Fort Collins Symphony, Fort Collins Opera, and the theater companies as well. She has taught and performed throughout the United States and Canada for over 50 years. She has been a member of CCBs fine staff since 1979.
Melissa retired from Colorado State University Music Theater and Dance Department in 2010, where she was the intermediate and advanced ballet technique professor.. She restaged many classic works and also choreographed numerous works of her own during those many years.
For the last 6 years she has taught during the spring semester for Escuela Profesional de Danza De Mazatlan,Mexico, a 4 year dance degree program, and also company class for Delfos, a world renown contemporary company. She has been invited to teach in several states in Mexico and also the National School of Ecuador.

Hannah Ernest Requa
Hannah Ernest Requa is originally from Fort Collins, CO and began her training at Canyon Concert Ballet. She holds a BFA in Ballet and Modern Dance from the TCU School for Classical & Contemporary Dance. After graduation, she studied at the Paul Taylor Dance Company and on scholarship at the Lou Conte Dance Studio working with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. While in Chicago she was a freelance artist with multiple companies and performed for festivals such as Dance Chance Redux and Delve Dance Chicago. Now in Texas, Hannah has been teaching and performing for over 10 years. She was a guest lecturer at Texas Christian University, a guest choreographer and master teacher at TAMU Corpus Christi, and an adjunct faculty member at Baylor University. She has continued to teach in multiple arenas and is an advocate for the arts, especially dance, in her community. Hannah directs {254}DANCEFEST, a regional contemporary dance festival in Waco that draws pre professional students and professional artists from all over Texas for a weekend of performing and masterclasses.
Hannah was a company member of Bruce Wood Dance in Dallas for two seasons and a principal soloist for Corpus Christi Ballet, performing roles such as Snow Queen and Dew Drop Fairy in The Nutcracker, Moyna and peasant pas in Giselle, and Princess Florine and Songbird Fairy in Sleeping Beauty. She has also continued her freelance career with companies such as wild goose chase dance, touring throughout the U.S. and in France, and for Mei/Co. Dance in Texas. She is thrilled to be joining Ad Deum Dance Company for their 25th anniversary season this year.
When not in the studio, Hannah is with her husband and children having dance parties in their kitchen.

Madeline Jazz Harvey
Madeline Jazz Harvey
Madeline Jazz Harvey is a dance educator, choreographer, and performer specializing in classical and contemporary ballet. She began her performance career at age fourteen as an apprentice with Charlotte Ballet. In 2010, Madeline joined Carolina Ballet Theatre where she served as a principal dancer, resident choreographer, and outreach coordinator. CBT highlights include performing the role of Giselle, Alonzo King’s Map, Dwight Rhoden’s Beatle Juice, and various works created for her by artistic director Hernan Justo. She was honored to become a member of IMPACT Dance Company in May 2020.
Madeline has been teaching and choreographing since 2006 in a variety of studio and collegiate settings. In 2007, she was the youngest recipient of the New York Choreographic Institute Fellowship Award. Her choreography has been featured in concerts and festivals across the nation including Universities of North and South Carolina, Davidson College, Converse College, Furman University, Tampa University, and as part of the Regional Ballet and American College Dance Associations. She was appointed Instructor of Ballet at the University of South Carolina in 2015 and became Assistant Professor of Dance at Colorado State University in August 2017. She values collaboration and is honored to have co-created works with composers, musicians, visual artists, and members of the National Organization for Parents of Murdered Children (South Carolina Chapter).
Madeline holds a BA and Professional Training Certificate in Dance from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and an MFA in Choreography from Jacksonville University. Human connection and vulnerability drive her choreographic process. Recent projects explore the artistry of parenting through dance. She is currently working in collaboration with psychologist Zeynep Biringen to test the efficacy of dance for enhancing emotional availability during pregnancy. Her research investigates play as a paradigm for choreographic process and is centered on community engagement.

Greta Sugai
Greta Sugai
Greta Sugai was born and raised in Colorado where she grew up dancing in Fort Collins since the age of 8. She is now a traveling contemporary fusion teacher and choreographer.
In 2015 Greta developed her own traveling dance company called Messengerz Dance Co. in which she led her company to New Zealand for a month to teach dance camps to students of all ages, and has since built partnerships there to return back to. She has also been a part of several Denver based companies as well as Justin Gile’s company SoulEscape in Texas and in Utah. Currently she is dancing with Chadash Contemporary Dance Movement in Denver as a professional level dancer. She is also a dance professor at Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, CO for their developing dance program. Greta specializes in guest teaching, choreographing and creating workshops across Colorado, and now out of state as well.
This summer she will be teaching out of state across Texas, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Arizona and more. Greta has also begun her competition choreography journey and one of her solo’s received 2nd place award for the senior prodigy division at NRG Nationals this past year. She is very excited about this journey ahead and is so thankful for each opportunity and relationship she gets to build on. Please welcome Greta!

All levels attend classes Monday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Half day on Saturday) at the Canyon Concert Ballet studios. Students will showcase their progress in a 45 minute in-studio demonstration on the last Saturday of the two weeks for friends and family.

Level placement will be determined by the instructors on the first day of classes. Please note, CCB students will be evaluated according to individual student level and not necessarily along CCB levels. This will ensure the most fruitful experience for each dancer.
Level 1: 3+ years of ballet technique training (no pointe required)
Level 3: 5+ years of ballet technique training (1-3 years of pointe required)

CCB offers a limited amount of need-based financial aid for the Summer Intensive. Please indicate desire to apply for financial aid on registration application.

$150 deposit is due at the time of registration. Please register by May 31, 2024 to ensure your spot.
Register and pay in full by April 1st to receive an early bird discount for the two weeks intensive! ($900 for Two Weeks)
*Remainder of fees must be paid in full by June 12th. Refunds requested prior to the first day of the intensive can be made with a $50 refund fee subtracted. No refunds after the first day of the intensive regardless of reason. Prorated intensive fees will be at the rate of $125 per day.

2024 Junior Intensive
The Junior Intensive inspires dancers to reach the next level and provides the opportunity to explore the many aspects of dance. The week’s training will give them the opportunity to enhance the dancer’s technique. Curriculum includes ballet, lyrical, contemporary, character, jazz and strengthening taught by CCB faculty and guest teachers. They will delve into the wonderful world of dance, learning more about dance history, acting, costuming and choreography. The week will culminate with a short in-studio recital. Ages 7-12
CCB’s Junior Intensive is open to all dancers! One year of prior dance training is encouraged. Auditions are not required. CCB students must currently be enrolled in level 1, 2, 3 or CCB Youth Ensemble. Non-CCB students are welcome!

Fairies and Pirates Camp
Spend a fun week learning themed dances and songs, making crafts, enjoying stories and snack time… all while making new friends! These delightful half-day camps give young dancers (age 3-6) a wonderful imaginative experience. Dancers will explore creative movement and display what they’ve learned in a mini-recital on Friday!

Cats Camp
Campers will learn vocal skills, dancing, projection techniques, stage directions, theater games, and will work scenes to create a musical inspired by Cats the Musical that will be performed at the end of the week. This camp is always a summer favorite! Great for ages 7-12.

Willy Wonka Camp

Before/After class care is available from 8am – 9am and 4pm – 5pm for $15/1 hour or $25/day and must be requested at time of registration.
Space is limited and filled on a first come, first served basis!
Refunds requested prior to the first day of camp can be made in full. No refunds are available after the first day of camp has started regardless of reason.
Lunch will be every day around noon. Please bring your own well-packed/insulated lunch. We encourage you to pack a hearty lunch with lots of protein and fresh veggies/fruit. A well-fueled body is important for good dancing! A light, healthy snack will be offered to all campers.
All campers will need a water bottle labeled with their name.
Proper attire is required for each camp. Please bring your gear in a labeled dance bag or backpack.
