Colorado Choreographic Lab
Canyon Concert Ballet is excited to announce the launch of its Northern Colorado Choreographic Lab, set to debut during the 2025-2026 season.
This innovative program offers a unique opportunity for four emerging choreographers to develop and present their work in collaboration with Canyon Concert Ballet’s company dancers. Selected choreographers will engage in an intensive five-week creative process, working closely with the dancers to explore and refine their choreographic ideas. This development period will culminate in five public performances held in Fort Collins, Colorado, celebrating the rich diversity of American artistry and creativity.
Under the mentorship of Artistic Director Michael Pappalardo, the Northern Colorado Choreographic Lab aims to be a hub for innovation, fostering the next generation of American choreographic voices. The lab will provide hands-on experience and professional guidance, supporting choreographers in bringing their artistic visions to life as part of this special 250th-anniversary celebration of American culture and creativity.
Supporting Future Artists
Our organization is dedicated to celebrating the rich artistic heritage of America by creating opportunities for emerging choreographers to develop and showcase their work. We believe in fostering creativity and innovation in dance, providing a platform for talented artists to share their unique perspectives and contribute to the cultural landscape of our nation.
Through this project, we will support four choreographers by providing them with resources, mentorship, and the opportunity to present their work on professional stages. By building collaborative partnerships within the artistic community, we aim to highlight the diverse voices that shape American dance, ensuring that their contributions are recognized and celebrated as part of this special 250th-anniversary tribute to American artistry.
