Application & Program Requirements
The dancer is required to do the following throughout the duration of the program:
maintain an 80% attendance rate
behave in a professional manner in class and at CCB events
audition for at least one CCB production
maintain a clean and appropriate social media presence (if the dancer has one)
Professional Development
In addition to the weekly classes the dancer will receive:
Yearly In-Studio Variation Performance
Free studio rental for solo work
2 workshops a year
Additional performance opportunities at the discretion of the School and Program Director
Assistance with Summer intensive auditions/ Resumé building
Monthly check-ins with Program Director
About
Canyon Concert Ballet’s Mentorship and Advisory Program is an elite opportunity for dancers with the potential and desire to become professional dancers. The program is designed to offer the dancer with extensive training, mentorship, and performing experiences that will prepare them for the professional world. This after school program is for dancers that are at a ballet 5 level or higher. By level 7, the dancer may choose between a classical or a contemporary concentration. By the end of the program, the dancer will be prepared for company and college auditions. Acceptance into the program is through an application and interview process.
Training & Schedule
Training hours and requirements increase with each level preparing the dancer with the technical, performative and life skills necessary for the professional world.
Weekly sample schedules listed below by level:
Ballet Level 4
3 Ballet Classes, 1 Pointe or Pre Pointe, 1 Modern, 1 Elective
Ballet Level 5
4 Ballet Classes, 2 Pointe, 1 Modern, 1 Elective
Ballet Level 6
4 Ballet Classes, 2 Pointe, 1 Modern, 1 Pilates, 1 Elective
Ballet Level 7: Classical Concentration
5 Ballet Classes, 2 Pointe/ Variation, 1 Modern, 1 Contemporary, 1 Pilates
Ballet Level 7: Contemporary Concentration
3 Ballet Classes, 1 Modern, 1 Jazz, 1 Contemporary, 1 Elective
Fees
$30 Monthly fee (September-May)
$400 Choreography Fee (Due Spring Break) includes one solo and either a duet, trio or group item depending on the discretion of the School Director and Program Coordinator
Abbey Morgan grew up in Longview, Washington and moved to Fort Collins in 2018. She attended Colorado State University as a Dance Major and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance in Spring of 2022. She began dancing at age 9 in Washington State when her aunt opened Higher Ground Dance Studio. She quickly fell in love with dance and has continued her training in ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, modern, improvisation, choreography, acrobatics, musical theatre, hip-hop, character dance, and flamenco. She began teaching dance in 2015, and has a deep passion for inspiring and educating the next generation of dancers. Abbey has performed with Eugene Ballet Theatre, BodyVox Dance Company, Colorado Ballet, and Disneyland’s Dance the Magic. She is thrilled to teach dance classes and work as an Artistic Associate with Canyon Concert Ballet Company.
