Dance with the Best
Kitty Bloch is one of our studio Artistic Directors. She is a dancer and dance teacher from Thüringen, Germany who focuses on ballet and technique training, as well as character dance, Flamenco, contemporary, jazz, modern and specialty stretching classes. She recently filmed this video while working with our dancers and we wanted to share it with you. Enjoy!

This spring’s ballet was Cinderella. Cinderella is a ballet composed by Sergei Prokofiev. It is one of his most popular and melodious compositions, and has inspired a great many choreographers since its inception. Cinderella was composed between 1940 and 1944 and premiered in 1945. This ballet is notable for its jubilant music, lush scenery, and for the comic double-roles of the stepsisters who are more crazy and silly than cruel in this treatment.

On April 15th, Canyon Concert Ballet’s Company and students performed Sleeping Beauty at the Lincoln Center. Sleeping Beauty is a ballet in a prologue and three acts, first performed in 1890. The music was composed by Peter Tchaikovsky and completed in 1889. The Sleeping Beauty ballet is a much celebrated ballet and the premiere received more favorable accolades than Swan Lake from the press.
It was great fun to rehearse and perform Sleeping Beauty here in Fort Collins. In case you missed it, here are some photos from the performance. Click the images to enlarge.
