About The Nutcracker

“The Nutcracker” follows a young girl, Clara, through her adventures on Christmas Eve during a party visited by her mysterious Uncle Drosselmeyer.  Life size dolls and toy soldiers create an evening that grows even more fantastical as she falls asleep and witnesses toy soldiers battling mice and rats.  A journey through the Land of Snow leads her to a world led by the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier, and filled with dancing candies and sweets performing for her and her soldier prince.

Rubies:  A 40th Anniversary Celebration

Friday, April 24, 2020 at 7pm

Saturday, April 25, 2020 at 2pm and at 7pm

This 2019/2020 season is Canyon Concert Ballet’s 40th year as Fort Collin’s premiere ballet company and school.  Since it’s our Ruby Anniversary, we are taking the year to commemorate this milestone by bringing local, historic and classical gems to you!  For our 40th Anniversary Celebration, Rubies, CCB is pulling out all the stops!  Partnering with the Fort Collins Symphony Orchestra for the first time for the spring ballet, CCB will premier two new works to two orchestral gems.  The program begins with beloved local choreographer, Judy Bejarano’s (founder of IMPACT Dance) contemporary interpretation of Aaron Copeland’s iconic score “Appalachian Spring.” “Precious Stones,” a short excerpt of pristine classical ballet from Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty (1890) will showcase the depth of talent of CCB’s dancers.  And, finally, artistic director, Alicia Laumann’s, new work “Rubies” accompanied by Anton Dvorak’s gorgeous and lush “Serenade for Strings in E Major, Op. 22” will complete the program.  Join us in celebrating our 40th year – get your season tickets today!

Individual tickets will go on sale January 1, 2020 at the Lincoln Center box office.
