2021 Summer Dance Classes!

Dance classes run from July 5 – August 7.

Students ages 3 through adult take part in dance classes at Canyon Concert Ballet.  Dance classes include jazz, tap, ballet, modern, hip hop, and lyrical for all ages and all abilities.

Students at our school inherit knowledge from our dedicated faculty, who nurture each child’s potential for artistry and encourage self-confidence. Joy and agility are gained through training, mentoring and performing experiences furthering their natural talents and varied skills.

Our faculty is committed to providing guidance and experience that shape the performer both technically and artistically – not only to become professional dancers, but to develop the confidence and discipline in pursuing all their life goals.

2021 Summer Intensive!

Our Summer Intensive offers a unique 2-week program that is open to all ballet students ages 9-24 with at least three years of ballet technique training.

This unique 2 week intensive offers the training today’s aspiring dancers need. While each week may be taken individually, we highly recommend enrolling in both weeks for the full benefits of the intensive.

Week 1, June 7-12, offers a Contemporary Concentration.

In addition to daily ballet classes, students will enjoy classes in contemporary ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, musical theatre, and Pilates, as well as lectures on injury prevention, nutrition, and dance history.

Week 2, June 14-19, offers a Ballet Concentration.

Classes will be offered in ballet technique, pointe, variations, ballet choreography, Pilates, injury prevention and nutrition, pointe shoe selection and care and ballet history.

2021 Spring Showcase

January 7, 2021 by Canyon Concert Ballet

It is that time of year again when we start our Showcase preparations. This year we are starting preparations a bit early as we are having to think of Plan A, B, C & D. What I promise you is that since we have time to prepare your dancer will get to showcase their dance and costume. This year showcase is June 5th & 6th.  We ask that if your dancer is planning on being in showcase to be available the entire weekend as show class assignments do not happen until the Spring.

Plans:

  • Plan A:  We hold showcase as regular at the Lincoln Center.
  • Plan B:  We have a limited audience allowed at the Lincoln Center and we also livestream the show.
  • Plan C:  We are not allowed an audience and we only livestream the show.
  • Plan D:  We find a stage or location and assign classes times to come and perform their dance. We would record it and then the show would be edited to be presented to family and friends.

Here is the Showcase Participation Sheet.

You can also pick one up in the main office and lobby. You can begin to drop or email the paperwork from today until January 9th. To keep things as contactless as possible if you are able to email the paperwork that would be appreciated.

Please email your paperwork and any questions to Sue at info<at>ccballet.org

There is no participation fee for Showcase. There is a cost of $65 is per costume. There will be an opportunity for a costume fundraiser in the Spring. More information to come.

Support CCB for Colorado Gives Day

December 3, 2020 by Canyon Concert Ballet

This has truly been a year that will never be forgotten.  Despite all the challenges and uncertainties, all of us at Canyon Concert Ballet never gave up.  We are so proud of the CCB family for staying flexible and adapting as conditions continually change!  And we are so grateful to you, our supporter, for helping us keep our doors open and dancers moving.

We will never stop dancing!

Schedule Your Colorado Gives Day Donation to CCB Today!

During the Shut Down (March – June)

Canyon Concert Ballet (CCB) does not believe in giving up so we quickly came up with ways to still provide our mission of dance experiences to all during the shut down.  CCB started hosting over 20 free online dance classes each week starting March 25th.  While the intent was mainly to serve our over 400 dance students, ages 18 months through adults as old as in their 70s, these classes were (and still are!) available for anyone wishing to be a beautiful mover!  The classes happened into June to complete the regular semester dancers are used to having.

In addition to these free dance classes, which were available on Instagram, Zoom, and YouTube (you can check them out on YouTube still today!), CCB hosted weekly dance book story times, class meet-ups, company dancer happy hours, virtual flash mobs, an international dance film festival, and choreography competitions – all virtually and safely!  Additionally, CCB premiered a full-length ballet from previous spring productions every Friday in May on YouTube, completely free and accessible for anyone who wished to view them.

All of these programs were free and were intended to keep dancers and their families, as well as the Northern Colorado community, engaged and connected during this isolating time.

With dancers no longer able to come to classes or participate in performances due to the COVID-19 virus, Canyon Concert Ballet utilized technology and creative means to provide dance classes and performance opportunities.  The mental, physical, and emotional benefits of dance are well known, and CCB works hard to create a safe and healthy place for anyone wishing to dance!

June to Now!

When we received the green light from the Larimer County Health Department to be able to return to classes and rehearsals, CCB immediately started working on a plan to safely return to in-person dance.   With our protocols approved by the Health Department, we held our summer classes and camps as scheduled, with proper masking, social distancing, smaller class sizes, and extra cleaning practices  in place.  CCB was also able to safely host our two week Summer Intensives in August.  Fall classes were able to start up as well and be safely held in-person at the studios on our beautiful new dance floors that were installed in March.

CCB’s ballet company was able to hold auditions and started rehearsals in July for Ballet & Beer and August for The Nutcracker.  Our beautiful 4th Annual Ballet & Beer: Latin Nights was held outside at The Lyric Cinema on Friday, September 25 for two sold out shows.  While our 39th Annual The Nutcracker was not able to be performed in person or virtually, we are so proud of the dancers who safely rehearsed and danced this production since August.

Our team meets weekly to this day with the Health Department to make sure the safest opportunities are being provided.  We are so proud of our team and families for staying flexible and adapting as conditions continue to change.  We are planning for a spring full of dance classes for our school and preparing for a spring production with our ballet company as well!

Thanks to your support, we will never stop dancing – Please donate today!
